Except in the South Hemisphere, the rest of the world will start soon the Spring/Summer 2012 season. I am always inspired by Fashion, particularly colours. If you follow Fashion, you will know the trends, it’s the same for Web Design, there are trends, very close to Fashion. For example, the influence for this summer will be bold orange, bright pink, warm orange, and yellow. There is as well a trend, for folk print, graphic, animal print (always fashionable), safari… Read Fashion magazines, browse Internet, it’s a daily routine for web designers, because Fashion changes quickly you need to keep up with the new trends, it will develop your creativity and flair for colours. Fashion predicts the trends, same rule for designing your blog or website.
If you are not sure, you can be inspired with others websites using colour palettes, please don’t copy them but be inspired by them.
I love a couple of websites that I strongly recommend, the first one is colour lovers a web colour community, where you can find the latest web-focused palettes and patterns, to help guide your next web design project.
The second website to be inspired by is color combos, a site built to help web designers quickly select and test website colour combinations.
